Lincolnshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust provides a range of community and inpatient services and contributes to all key care pathways for older adults with dementia or mental health-related needs.
The Recovery College offers free courses to anyone over the age of 16 years who mostly have mental ill health but also some physical illness too.
The college is different in that all educators have their own lived experience of mental health and the courses are co-produced with health and educator experts as well as students, peer trainers and members of the wider community. The courses are delivered in different areas across the county daily. Core courses are: Understanding Stress, Understanding Anxiety, Dreaming of a better sleep, WRAP, etc.
Whilst on placement the student will gain an overview of how the college is run to meet the needs of its clients, given a tour of the campus and an introduction to the team. Students will observe teaching sessions and also have the opportunity to participate throughout their placement.
Tasks may include:
•Observing how to prepare for a teaching course/session
•Helping to prepare for a teaching course/session
•Observing courses throughout the week
•Taking part as a student in the courses ....
