At The Wong Day Service we offer a variety of activities;
Within The Centre: Arts and Crafts, Craft, Word Finding (Cognitive exercise), Relaxation, Pyrography
Independent Living Skills, Gardening, Music and Movement, Small Animal Care, Numbers (Cognitive session) and Intense Interaction.
In The community: Swimming, Bowling, Support to work placements, Memory Group, Talk Eat and Drink Group
Whilst on placement, individuals will be working as part of a team, under the supervision of a Day Opportunities Coordinator, will participate in supporting customers with Learning/Physical Disabilities, Long Term Conditions or Adult Frailty to reach their full potential and increase their quality of life at home, work and in the community, in line with the Personalisation agenda.
Tasks and duties include:
Providing support to customers to meet their personal care needs, respecting the dignity and privacy of the customer.
Being prepared to work flexibly to meet changing needs of the customers in agreement with senior staff.
Under direction of the Day Opportunities Coordinator and/or Worker assist and support customers to become active members of the community, through social networking, day to day activities and wider friendships.
Work hard to ensure customers are not bullied, abused or harmed.
Adhere to Making Safeguarding Personal as per Directorate policy and procedures.
Adhere to the Skills for Care Code of Conduct for Healthcare Support Workers and Adult Social Care Workers in England.
Safeguarding - All individuals need to be aware of the possible abuse of children and vulnerable adults and if you are concerned you need to follow the Lincolnshire County Council Safeguarding Policy. In addition, employees working with children and vulnerable adults have a responsibility to safeguard and promote the welfare of children and vulnerable adults during the course of their work.View all work placements
